Bitcoin 100: Developed Specifically for Non-Profits

I apologize for my apparent lack of participation in this thread lately.  I did manage to get an additional 10 emailings out to charities from our other thread. Which btw, needs to be more obvious in this thread so we can discuss those there. Or is it all on the website now?  I have not had the time to go check it out. Either way, total emails sent out at this point is 16. I have received 0 responses thus far.

I will be a bit more unavailable for the near foreseeable future as my father has passed away. He left our reality this morning at 7:24 AM EST. He was only 51 years old and leaves behind 5 sons and 1 beautiful daughter and a loving wife as well as 7 brothers and sisters, his mother and father, many nieces and nephews and 4 grandchildren. He was a very open minded person, a wonderful father, provider and friend to many, many less fortunate people whose lives he touched very deeply. His presence here will be missed dearly!! I have been about 5 hours away from my home and office to be with my family during this time. I just returned home last evening and will be leaving again in the next day or so to help settle his affairs.  In the meantime my business affairs will be delayed....

Things like Ferret Rescue located in Pennsylvania, or an animal shelter or Girl Scout group in some particular state for example. It would be much easier to get them to accept, but the downside is that exposure would be much more limited.

Limited, but much more appreciative. In the spirit of Bitcoin 100's namesake, we could have them do the same thing that we're requiring of the formidable non-profits, but instead of awarding 100 BTC, we could seed their account with $100 USD. They may even look upon that as paid advertising on their respective sites, thus being awarded for using a small amount of real estate, with the added bonus of generating more revenue for their cause.

At the onset, Bitcoin wouldn't get that much exposure, but when you start adding up all those little sites, coupled with having the opportunity to show larger non-profits existing Bitcoin accepting charitable sites, a win-win scenario starts to unfold, albeit slowly. Plus, you'll never know when one of those organizations will get national air play, increasing Bitcoin's awareness several fold. As I've mentioned a couple posts back, we can even hand-pick such causes that are already in the news, thus increasing our chances of mega-exposure.

AnthroCon, a furry convention in Pittsburgh PA, is attended by 3,000 to 5,000 people from around the world, and every year the charity they pick raises $1,000 to $3,000. Usually these are small, at times local, charities. The other added benefit is having a legitimate reason for exposing the furry community to Bitcoin (instead of "Hey gais, look at this!" it'll be "Hey gais! These guys take Bitcoin too!"). The furry fandom is in desperate need for something like Bitcoin. Although porn is not the main aspect of the fandom, it is still a fairly large part, and because PayPal and other payment processors have strict anti-porn rules, they have actually shut down accounts and seized commission funds of some artists (which sucks when art commissions are their main source of income), and seized donation and subscription funds from art websites that also happen to host porn (these sites allow artists to upload their own art, and don't censor or discriminate against the content). These websites and artists are struggling to find methods to get paid for commissions or subscriptions. Some are using the Square VISA thingy, and some have even tried using Second Life Linden, but both methods have very high fees. Maybe with enough of a donation, we can get the charity to actually advertise that they take Bitcoin as one of their payment methods when they come to the convention (they usually get a table in a very prominant spot, where they display their charity info and accept donations in person).

Hello-

We are a 501c3 non-profit and have no salaried employees and depend solely on donations. We due depends on our volunteers to help care for and advocate for the dogs. The donations that we receive fund our new Hello Bully Halfway House and care for our adopt-a-bulls (food, medical bills, enrichment toys, etc.), fund our free public educational programs and fully fund our Pit Fix Plus program, which is a free spay/neuter and vaccine program for owned pit bulls in the Pittsburgh and surrounding area. With that program we are doing our part to help control the over population of pit bulls and the over-crowding in shelters in our area.

I hope hat gives you a better insight as to who Hello Bully is what we do. Please let me know if you should need any more information or have any questions or concerns.

It is a charity that benefits animals, which I will be trying to convince to help spread Bitcoin awareness to humans dressed like animals, once they come to a convention that typically hosts 3,000+ of such humans.
Btc100 funds would only be donated in the originally intended way. All the subsequent attempts at convincing I will do on my own. The only way humans dressed like animals will benefit is from knowing about a better money transmittal service than the PayPal types that have been ripping them off for the last decade. Wider addoption is good, especially when there's a global group of 10's of thousands on places like deviantart, furaffinity, sofurry, etc, who are all very internet savvy, extremely connected, and spend A LOT of money on p2p transactions trading and selling art and custom work.
Frankly, that community is perfect for this technology, but there isn't any authoritative way of introducing it to them. When I tried with some, they either come back with "Isn't that a scam/pyramid? I don't get it" or they keep using PayPal, accepting the risk, just because it's easier. I am hoping with this charity displaying Bitcoin as a donation method, it will give Bitcoin a bit more legitimacy.

Strange thing! It wasn't broken. It worked perfectly the second after I configured everything.
