Hi all.
I'm look to store my bitcoins and ethers on a desktop wallet (until I get my hardware wallet sometime this fall), and Exodus looks like a good match for my needs. What is the cryptocurrency community opinion on how safe this wallet is (as long as I keep my desktop safe of course)?
Regards, kenneho

Yes it's safe. I've been using for my altcoins and IMO is the best multi-assets wallet for desktop you can get today.
And they allow you to control and export your private keys. The first feature that you should look at every wallet you want to use.

I've been using it for a while, it's very good if you are using altcoins in addition to BTC, not sure about the security details but as far as I understand it require some trust in an intermediate party (without access to your private keys of course) in a similar way to Electrum.

They have a pretty good reputation, but the coding is not open source, so you have to decide for yourself if you trust them or not.

I am using both electrum and exodus in 2 different computers from quite some time now and both are quality wallets. Trusting them is an issue but their service is good with Bitcoins as well as altcoins.

You can store, and also exchange following coins directly in the wallet: Aragon, Augur, Bitcoin, Dash, Decred, EOS, Ethereum, Golem and Litecoin.

Can someone provide a verified link to the site where one could download it? Is there a Linux version?

I can say that Exodus is good wallet. This wallet is built in ShapeShift exchange, but differently from other wallets, Exodus gives control of your private keys, what is important benefit of this service. And now it's hard to find bad reviews from their users. I really can recommend to use Exodus wallet.

Is in their website at the bottom of the front page. "Exodus currently supports Aragon, Augur, Bitcoin, Decred, Dash, EOS, Ethereum, Golem, and Litecoin."

Beware of extraorbitant transaction fees though if you use Exodus to receive lots of small transactions (from mining, for instance).

So Exodus earn money off fees from transactions to or from the wallet?

So Exodus earn money off fees from transactions to or from the wallet? I saw on their website that they actually don't. I'm puzzled as to how they make their money then. They are surely not providing this software for free.

I turned 3k from LTC into Golem and it charged about $90 I believe.

To my knowledge they are closed source.
I don't trust anything closed source, not necessarily because I think they bad, but because undisclosed code is pretty much always more vulnerable, since less people are working on it, and inspecting it.
If you want a really good vetted and audited software, go open source. That includes open source OS too like Linux.

Make sure to use offline (cold storage) wallet if possible. For example, electrum for bitcoin BTC lets you create keys on a computer that is not connected to the internet.
Make sure to validate any files you download online with few sources including elctrum. You can do hash checks md5s etc.
