I'm surprised BCH is still holding up so well. I need to get a life. I have been watching these walls too long I guess. Total time logged in: 830 days, 6 hours and 14 minutes. Peasants. That doesn't look real. I demand a screenshot. And no photoshop, please I'm sure it's real. Here's mine:

Jihan WU is in New York, this might be a very special day if they reach a compromise. It looks like it Let's hope it's a true compromise. Something like Segwit with BIP100 (or similar) would ensure this clusterfuck is far less likely to occur in the future. A very conservative system to increase the base blocksize over time, and Segwit to get lightning networks rolling. That's what I think should happen, but I'm bound to be wrong

bitcoin is literally the most interesting market on the planet.
^calm before the storm==bitcoin price is about to explode up north with leaps and bounds you were never expecting!! :-D weeeee++ Why? What fundamentals have improved recently? Less new bitcoins to be found every 10 minutes. Like clockwork. That was ages ago. The halvings don't just make the price go up straight away, it's just a loose guideline for when the price should go up for miners' revenues to stay the same or get higher. Basically, no fundamentals have improved recently and I don't think that storms are very pleasant. Bitebits wasn't talking about the halving. He was referring to the fact that new bitcoins are generated every 10 minutes (on average) and that, therefore, there are fewer left to go around, which makes every bitcoin a little more valuable.

I don't think you know what a wall is. You can't just point at half of the entire order book of unrelated small orders and call that a wall. A wall is a single vertical piece of the order book. For example one single order for 5,000-30,000 coins or a few very close orders for 5,000 coins each. You saw this frequently on gox. Occasionally they would stack like 50 orders for 500 btc each that were all 10 cents apart, as if anyone was fooled by that. Now this was a wall!

All of these crypto "news" outlets are pushing things according to their investments. You can also get things published by paying them. They haven't had credibility for years.
Basically like all "good" news organisations these days

I was just considering pairing a Crypto Capital account with a Coinapult account and doing some trading. Anyone here successfully done that? Deposited BTC into Coinapult, withdrawn into Crypto Financial, and then withdrawn to a US bank account?
Also, should I be concerned if they aren't generating enough income to pay dividends?
Thought I should post an update. I have now successfully done a few transactions through Crypto Financial. Going to have to send the IRS some cash now. heh. Wow, you're game trusting your money with a bunch of crooks like this I'm not sure what's going on with their investors. I was mostly looking at it from a customer standpoint. All the US services (coinbase, circle, kraken) closed my accounts after the SEC fined me for running BTCT.CO, so I don't have many options anymore for trading and with Coinapult using them it seemed like a viable option. So far so good. From an investment standpoint, I think it was a pretty solid idea, they just need to communicate because it doesn't look at all good to potential customers when they're silent with their investors. There's gotta be tons of people like me out there that have had their coinbase accounts closed for who knows what reasons. Yeah, they seem to be operating the business fine so far and it's great you've found an option that works. What really irks me is, as Equilux said, the total lack of communication and updates for the investors. I have contacted them through the email address on their web site twice with no reply. Not even a simple acknowledgement that they received the email. It certainly gives the impression they have wiped their hands of the investors and run with their money.

I've worked out the problem. My Armory data directory is on the other drive too and I had it linked into the .armory directory in my home folder. Running Armory from the command line with the -datadir option fixes the problem. What's odd is that I'm sure this arrangement worked with a previous version because I didn't have space on my SSD when I caught up the Armory data with the blockchain. It hadn't been run for quite some time too.
Anyway, all is well. I'll just modify my .desktop file with the command line options. Thanks for helping me out.

TypeError: in method 'BlockDataManagerConfig_blkFileLocation_set', argument 2 of type 'string const &' This line is interesting. Does your Bitcoin blockdata directory on the separate drive have any unusual characters in it's path? Nope, it's pretty straightforward: /media/user/Data1/Bitcoin

Hi,
Version 0.94.1 and also version 0.93.2 on Ubuntu 16.04 installed from the .deb file.
I have "Armory is offline" and a button to select "Go Online!" in the middle of the window and "Connected (0 blocks)" in the bottom right corner but am unable to go online.
I have checked that bitcoind is running and I have set the correct bitcoind data directory setting in Armory (bitcoin data is on a different drive). If I close Armory, bitcoind continues to run and if I then restart Armory I get a message allowing me to kill it and let Armory restart it for me. In the tail of the log there is the following message (typically):
2016-07-30 20:18 (INFO) -- ArmoryQt.py:5887 - Dashboard switched to auto-InitSync 2016-07-30 20:18 (ERROR) -- announcefetch.py:186 - No file with ID=announce was fetched 2016-07-30 20:18 (ERROR) -- announcefetch.py:186 - No file with ID=changelog was fetched 2016-07-30 20:18 (ERROR) -- announcefetch.py:186 - No file with ID=downloads was fetched 2016-07-30 20:18 (WARNING) -- ArmoryQt.py:2005 - No Armory links in the downloads list 2016-07-30 20:18 (WARNING) -- ArmoryQt.py:2065 - No Satoshi links in the downloads list 2016-07-30 20:18 (INFO) -- ArmoryQt.py:2525 - loadBlockchainIfNecessary 2016-07-30 20:18 (ERROR) -- ArmoryQt.py:1323 - 11 attempts to load blockchain failed. I have also tried disabling "Let Armory run Bitcoin-QT/bitcoind in the background" but this also stays offline, although Bitcoin-QT is running and up to date. Looking at the log file in this case it seems that Armory is still looking for the bitcoind data directory in /home/user/.bitcoin/ even though Bitcoin-QT has it's data stored on a different drive.
Can anyone suggest a solution? I can copy the whole log file if it helps...
Thanks

Hmmm. Well potentially they already have the necessary infrastructure for their new coin if they decide to repurpose it away from Bitcoin... It wont work Explain? I can't think why it wouldn't work. A bitcoin miner will mine any SHA256 coin, but is there something I'm missing?

Pong! When I was about 11 there were no game systems generally available but a local electrical store owner built a kit set pong game and poked the controls through the wall of his shop in our small town, the screen was behind the shop glass. I think there was two knobs, one for each player to move the paddles up and down, and a button to restart the game. My brother and I would stand on the footpath and battle each other. Ahh how times have changed p.s. fuck I'm old
